Denis Law Legacy Trust

Supporting and empowering young people to be confident, capable, independent and responsible citizens within their own communities since 2006.

Denis Law Legacy Trust is a registered charity that operates and delivers a number of free to access programmes and positive destination activities for young people in Aberdeen.

Primarily through Streetsport, our flagship programme which is run in partnership with Robert Gordon University, we aim to reduce instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour; improve health and wellbeing; and encourage inclusivity through sport, physical activity and creative endeavour.

Our activities currently engage over 18,500 annual participations across a range of age groups and include a variety of opportunities and programmes which contribute to healthier and safer local communities.

denis law - the king

“Sport played a very important part of my childhood and I firmly believe that the experiences and enjoyment that kids get from physical activity will stay with them forever.”

Denis Law came from humble beginings growing up in Aberdeen to then play at the likes of Old Trafford and the even the World Cup.

Denis played for Huddersfield Town, Manchester City, Torino and Manchester United and became the greatest footballer that Scotland has ever produced; an icon of the game revered and loved throughout the football world.

Nicknamed the King by fans for his glittering career at Manchester United, Denis Law is still the is the only Scottish football player to have won the prestigious FIFA Ballon d’Or.

our activities

From Streetsport to Club 10, Denis Law Legacy Trust delivers a range of free to access doorstep programmes and activities focused around community engagement and widening participation.

Our flagship programme Streetsport, ran in partnership with Robert Gordon University, prioritises prevention through intervention and diversionary tactics to support disadvantaged communities by providing free to access sport and creative activity directly into their communities.

"So many people complain that kids don’t play outside anymore, and that there is nothing for them to do".

"Streetsport is the perfect antidote to that; the Cruyff Court Denis Law is a stroke of genius and its impact is undeniable" - Pride of Sport Judging Panel.
